The app
All processing happens on your device. VBCut analyzes your video using your iPhone’s or Mac’s own processor. The app has no servers, and your video — and everything derived from it — stays on your device.
- No account. There is nothing to sign up for, so we never learn who you are.
- No data collection. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporters that send us data, no advertising frameworks, and no tracking of any kind.
- Your videos stay yours. Videos you open are read from your device; condensed videos and clips you export are written back to your device. Nothing is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
- Location is stripped from exports. Videos you export from VBCut do not carry GPS or location metadata, even if the original recording did — so a clip shared to a team chat doesn’t reveal where it was filmed.
- Photos access is limited. If you save to or open from your photo library, the app uses Apple’s standard permission prompts, and access is used solely to read the video you chose or save the video you exported.
Children
VBCut is used by parents to film youth sports, so we designed it so that no information about anyone — adult or child — is ever collected, transmitted, or stored by us. The footage never leaves the device it’s on.
This website
vbcut.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider (AWS) keeps standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to operate the service; we don’t use them to identify or profile anyone.
If you email us (for support or a beta invite), we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to send you the thing you asked for. We don’t add you to marketing lists or share your address with anyone.
Changes
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date above before the change ships. Given the design of the app, we don’t expect much to change.
Beta testing
While VBCut is in beta, builds are distributed through Apple's TestFlight. Apple gives us the email address you used to request an invite, and — if you opt in through TestFlight — crash logs and feedback you choose to send. That is Apple's channel, not ours; the app itself still contains no crash reporter or analytics of its own, and none of it includes your video.
